WORKING WITH FACULTY
Dr. Susan Christy will conduct a two hour workshop on dealing with faculty. Susan is a former faculty member, consultant, trainer and the author of Working with Faculty: A Guidebook for Higher Education Staff and Managers. During the workshop, she will be sharing her views and knowledge about creating and maintaining good working relationships with faculty.
Susan has presented in libraries at other universities and has spoken to several UW librarians in order to customize the session.
She will assist in helping us to:
- Gain perspective on how working with faculty is different from boss-subordinate relationships in other organizations
- Learn about faculty communication and work styles, priorities, roles, needs and pressures
- Discover strategies to orient and communicate with faculty, manage their expectations, help them follow administrative procedures and partner for their success – and yours
- Build resources and relationships
The UW Libraries is co-sponsoring Dr. Christy's visit with the UW Professional Staff Organization (PSO).
Please REGISTER to ensure that we have enough seating and materials.
To register, email Elaine Jennerich jenneric@uw.edu.
